Free CV Tips: the basics

Your CV is not a tell-all document. Be selective about what information you include; remember, LESS IS MORE! Avoid large blocks of type. Your most important accomplishments should be easy to find rather than hid within blocks of type. Your CV, on average, receives a 15 second read. Blocks of type discourage further reading. Break up the blocks with short, quick, bulleted points that catch the reader's eye and interest. Use 10, 11 and 12 point fonts. Yes, you can vary these sizes throughout your document to draw attention to important text however do not use smaller than 10.
