Next Generation Prince2 2009 Will Become Available in July

For those of you considering it, Prince2 is getting smaller.

In the coming months, the Prince2 training manual is being reduced from 500 to around 300 pages (a 40% reduction) as it’s felt that the current manual is too wordy and contradictory.

The new one is designed to be easier to understand, is aligned to other project management certifications such as the MSP and PMP, and is more user friendly.

If you have the time or inclination to study PRINCE2, it is widely used as a project management method in IT-projects in both public and private sectors, but it has become popular in non-IT projects as well. It is now the UK's de facto standard for project management.

Most IT recruiters (75%) think IT candidates armed with further qualifications are more likely to get a job, a new survey from The IT Job Board claims.

The survey also shows that 84% of IT professionals think such qualifications will boost their employment chances and 87% think resourcing professionals seek such qualifications when hiring.

The most valued IT qualifications for IT professionals were Microsoft (MCSE, MCSA and MCT) CCNA and CCNP, Prince2 Certification along with the ITIL Certification.
