Getting Ready for Work Experience

To save embarrassment and best prepare you to make the right impression in a ‘trial period’ (albeit one or two weeks of work experience), make sure you ask:
  • Do I have to bring ID and if so, how many forms?
  • Is there somewhere to eat onsite or offsite nearby?
  • Do I need to wear anything ‘special’?
  • What’s the dress code?
  • What time do I need to arrive and who should I ask for?
  • Obviously … where do I need to go?
  • What time does the day end?
Get ready to pack a lunch beforehand if something isn’t being provided for you.

It’s better to be prepared and get the most from the time from the would be employer.

After all, you’ll never get a second chance to make a first impression.
